Reviews Policy

A review is worth reading only when it is honest. Below you will find how ours are gathered, the checks behind them, and the very short list of reasons one might be taken down. Briefly: none of them are written by us, none are bought, and none disappear for being unkind.

How we know a review is real

Every review published on this store is linked to a completed order. The invitation to write one goes out by email only after that order has been delivered, and only to the address the order was placed with. Nobody can submit a review for a product they have not bought from us.

Should a review ever be published without that link to an order, it will carry a label saying so.

Our own conduct

  • None of the reviews here were written by us or by anyone acting for us.
  • Nothing is purchased, exchanged or sourced through any provider of review content.
  • Wording is never altered. A review appears exactly as it was written.
  • Criticism is never suppressed, buried further down a list, or quietly withheld.
  • Feedback belonging to a retired product is never transferred to a different one.

Rewards and gifted items

Nothing is given in return for feedback: no discount, no free item, no prize draw. Should we ever run something of that kind, each affected review will state on its face that a reward was involved.

When a piece goes to a reviewer or creator at no cost, whatever they publish belongs to them, and any quotation of it here identifies the item as gifted.

Grounds for taking a review down

Removal happens in these circumstances only:

  • The experience described is not genuine
  • Another individual is named, or personal information appears
  • The content is abusive, discriminatory or threatening
  • Publishing it would be unlawful or breach a third party's rights
  • It is spam, or advertises something unconnected
  • The subject is not the product itself but an issue such as delivery, which we would sooner resolve with you directly

A low score appears nowhere on that list. Unfavourable reviews remain published.

Calculating the score

Each product's figure is a straightforward mean across all of its published reviews. Nothing is filtered out beforehand and no review counts for more than another. Alongside it sits the total number of published reviews it was drawn from.

Raising a concern

If a review here strikes you as fabricated, or falls under one of the grounds above, write to orders@dragondildo.com quoting the product and the review. It will be investigated, and you will hear the outcome whichever way it goes.

Legal basis

European consumer law obliges a trader who displays consumer reviews to explain whether and how it verifies that those reviews originate from people who genuinely bought or used the product. Submitting or commissioning false reviews, and presenting review information in a distorted way, are prohibited practices under the Unfair Commercial Practices Directive as amended by Directive (EU) 2019/2161. The section above headed "How we know a review is real" is our statement of verification for those purposes.
